Each day I get up from my bed, I find reasons to give thanks to God for sparing me. The minutes however differs; there are times it's so short, some other times,so long, and at some times it's just there.
However, on some special days, I deliberately take a long while at the place of my devotions. I have discovered in times past that the longer time I spend at my devotion, the better day I have. It helps me keep my emotions in check- I can be very emotional.
Okay! So to the story of today; I made up my mind to get to work early today, I set my alarm to wake me up gradually(I wake up gradually, lol), I finally left my house at 7:00am. Immediately, I rushed to the bus terminal to pick a bus or a bike;I didn't get to see that in time, favour finally beckoned at me, and I got a tricycle to convey me to where I was heading to-Agbado. I got a bike to transport me to the next stop at a very nice price too.
When I got there, the Monday morning rush was so much that the queue at the bus-stop was overwhelming. I decided within me to break my movement into two instead of taking a straight bus. It was then I realised that the bus drivers too were taking undue advantage of the crowd. So I got a suggestion within me to take few minutes walk from the major terminal to the ones less populated. I did as instructed, and when I finally settled for a place, I joined the people at the bus stop in calling my bus destination. I was at this task for more than 10 minutes when a tricycle heading my destination stopped. I didn't add that a Tricyclist had stopped earlier, but I didn't know in time that it was heading where I had in mind; by the time I knew, two friends who were obviously on the same mission as mine hopped in and left with the tricycle. When the second Tricyclist stopped, a man beside me hopped in again and they left. Quickly, I knew that I needed a miracle to leave that place as I was running seriously late for work. I quietly prayed to my Best Friend, the Holy Spirit to send me my personal ride. Few minutes after I prayed to Him, another Tricyclist called my destination and stopped few seconds walk from where I was. Quickly, I started to run to meet the tricycle before someone else did. Suddenly, a woman came to where I was, about to move into the tricycle, pushed me away and got in. The driver who knew it was I who called him, he said nothing and drove off. I quickly brushed it off my mind, while doing this, a lady passing through with her friend said it aloud to my hearing that she would have pushed the older woman if she were in my shoes. Immediately, I said it loud to my hearing that I wouldn't do such.
Few minutes after that scene, a Motorcyclist drove past, called my destination, I stopped and I comfortably mounted without no push or rush at the same price as the Tricycle's.
Do you know that the Motorcycle was the ride I unknowingly prayed? The traffic jam to where I was headed was very serious that if I had pushed the woman and gotten into the tricycle, I would have had a dampened conscience which definitely would have affected my day at the office, and I would have arrived my office pretty late which could probably have generated a serious reprimand. I was so full of thanks to Jesus on the way to my workplace.
On the long run, I had reasons to thank |God that I didn't do what a normal person would have done. When you do what a normal person does, you get the result a normal person gets.
I am Busolami, welcome to my daily work tales.
